How did Edwaam Studios create a Landing Spot for a CYO Track Team?
The St. Sylvester CYO Track Team is a non-profit youth organization that needed a welcoming online hub for both new and returning athletes. The goal was to create a simple, easy-to-navigate website where students and families could register online and learn how to get involved in their local community.
Problem
There was no dedicated website to guide families through registration or provide clear information about the program, leading to unnecessary confusion and extra work for both coaches and parents.

Expanded Branding
Add a secondary color to existing primary color and logo to create a fresh, more versatile brand.

Digital Templates
Create Social Media templates and generic photos to post to their Facebook group page to maintain consistency.
Research Process ~
Understanding St. Sylvester CYO Track's mission was the first step to connect them with more young athletes and their families.
Target Audiences
Parents of young athletes looking to register in seasonal track teams.
Identifying a problem
St. Sylvester CYO Track is known throughout their community, and has a natural flow of athletes ready to join the team. However, managing all of the physical paperwork was a bit difficult, so creating a way to streamline the process for both the main coach and the families was key.
Market Research
Other teams had already set a precedent with straightforward informational pages, shaping user expectations. Since St. Sylvester did not, the goal was to meet those expectations by following familiar patterns and ensuring families could engage with ease. This method offered families a familiar and reliable online space.
Value Proposition
Bringing families and athletes together with a clear, easy-to-use website that simplifies registration and fosters community connection.

Brand Guidelines
While they had an existing logo and utilized the color red, there was no real branding for the track team. I decided to add the color pale blue to contrast with the red, and played into the flame motif from their sneaker and flame logo. Along with the addition of a speckled texture, and bold type, these components came together to create a fun and vibrant brand for St. Sylvester's website and socials.

Website Prototyping, Planning and Designing
Website Design Overview
I made sure that all text on backgrounds was easy to read, any text in images had appropriate alt tags, and that it met AA and AAA Accessibility standards. The CTA’s and other details were darkened in specific spots to not only be accessible but to draw attention to services. We also used cleaner typefaces on the website to coordinate with the clean leaf portion on the logo.
Navigation
3 page website: Home, Registration and Contact pages
We decided to limit the website to 3 pages for simplicity and optimization. In the future, there is space to incorporate a photo gallery, testimonials, social media live feed and a calendar if desired.
Registration
I created a simple form that can be duplicated and recycled seasonally, and replicated their original paper forms. Upon submission of a form, the coach receives a receipt that has a space for parents to sign once they're in person.
Social Media
After the brand guideline and website creation, I translated the new digital identity into the following
-
Announcement Post
-
General but eye catching so the coach can add context in the description
-
-
Schedule Change
-
Same concept as the announcement, but specifically regarding scheduling
-
-
Event Template
-
A basic, fun template to show when there's a major race or other community event
-
Can be packaged as: reels/videos, commercials, single photos, carousels, and stories
